Top Korean stars, Sol Kyung-gu, Do Kyung-soo, and Kim Hee, co-star. Director Kim Yong-hwa, known for the "Along with the Gods" series, presents the SF blockbuster "THE MOON" finally landing in Japan this summer. The release date is set for July 5th (Fri), and the Japanese main visual has been completed. The film features a solid lineup including veteran actor Sol Kyung-gu, who represents the Korean film industry with works like "Peppermint Candy," and Do Kyung-soo (D.O.), the main vocalist of K-POP group EXO, who made his first film appearance after military service in a Kim Yong-hwa film following "Along with the Gods," along with Kim Hee, who is fresh in memory for her performance in the hit TV series "World of the Married." The story follows the Korean manned rocket Uri carrying three crew members on a mission to land on the moon. However, a communication trouble arises due to solar wind interference just before entering lunar orbit, resulting in the loss of the crew's lives in an accident during repairs. To ensure the survival of the only remaining rookie astronaut Sonu (Do Kyung-soo), Jeguk (Sol Kyung-gu), who left the organization after taking responsibility for a manned rocket explosion five years ago, is called back to the space center. Meanwhile, Sonu, who made the decision to carry on his comrades' will, successfully lands on the moon despite facing a major crisis. As ground staff work tirelessly for a slim chance of rescue, the question remains whether Sonu will be able to set foot on Earth again. The newly completed Japanese main visual features astronaut Sonu floating in space, capturing the scene with the spacecraft leaving at high speed, the moon filled with mysterious light, and the distant, beautifully glowing Earth. The catchphrase "Return from the moon alone" is added next to Sonu heading towards Earth, raising curiosity about why he wanders in space after the historic achievement of mankind landing on the moon for the first time in 55 years. The design is intriguing, leaving viewers eager to see how the story unfolds. The moon is 384,400 km away from Earth, with temperatures fluctuating between 110 degrees Celsius and minus 170 degrees Celsius. With no atmosphere and no hope of rescue, NASA and ground staff at the Korean Space Center work tirelessly for a slim chance of rescue. Will Sonu be able to set foot on Earth again? Starting from April 26th (Fri), the second round of movie ticket benefits will include a set of three postcards (3 designs) to be sold at theaters nationwide. With the July release coinciding with the annual Super Moon, it will be a month filled with "THE MOON."
