Yeri of Red Velvet revealed her thoughts on moving from SM Entertainment to a new agency and the future activities of Red Velvet. Yesterday (5th), during an interview after the broadcast of the drama "Bitch X Rich2" held at the BLITZWAY ENTERTAINMENT building in Gangnam, Seoul, Yeri mentioned Red Velvet's activities. Yeri, who joined Red Velvet in 2015, left SM Entertainment, where she had been for over 10 years since elementary school, and transferred to BLITZWAY ENTERTAINMENT in May this year. At the time of filming "Bitch X Rich2," Yeri was focused on the shoot rather than her future, as her contract was about to expire. She said, "I filmed the drama until February, but my contract expired in March. After the drama ended, I had a meeting with BLITZWAY. I was really glad to meet wonderful people and find a company I wanted to sign with, but I also thought about what would have happened if I hadn't." As her passion for acting grew stronger, Yeri chose an agency specializing in acting. She explained, "While doing Red Velvet activities, I learned more about the fun of acting, but I had been studying acting since I was a trainee. After debuting, I had a desire to act in the back of my mind, but I became very busy traveling domestically and internationally. I wanted to act when I could focus." She added, "When I started acting, it was really fun. I liked being able to express emotions in a different way than as a singer. I wanted to try acting seriously. I had been vaguely looking at agencies specializing in actors." Although she signed with BLITZWAY after leaving SM, their supportive relationship continues. Yeri said, "I had been with SM for a really long time. When my contract ended, it felt like starting to live alone (away from my family). On that day, the people from the company expressed their regret. I felt their support for me. We are still on good terms. At the preview of the movie 'Next,' six managers from SM came to support me. It was touching." She continued, "The people at BLITZWAY are also very warm, as if I had known them for a long time. Since I am a bit clumsy, they take care of me in detail. Even though my managers are men, they are more delicate than I am. When they shared the interview schedule with me, they wrote, 'Not casual clothes, something nice' just in case (laughs). The representative treats me like a father, and the managers are considerate, so I was able to get used to it quickly." Yeri described her relationship with the Red Velvet members as a true sisterhood, joking and caring for each other. Regarding the period when they discussed exclusive contracts, Yeri said, "We didn't formally set a time to talk, but when we gathered in the practice room, we occasionally talked naturally about contract expiration and learned about each other's wishes." She added, "When women gather, there can be conflicts or jealousy. But since we have known each other since childhood and have shared joys and sorrows, there is none of that. It's a healthy relationship where we support each other." Reflecting on living with Irene since elementary school, Yeri said, "When we lived in the dorm, there were moments when I felt irritated, thinking, 'Why does she walk like that? She could walk quietly.' But those feelings quickly disappeared. I think that's what true family is like. It's the same with my real sister. Now I don't feel irritated at all." She mentioned that she often drinks with Irene, saying, "You might think we don't drink much, but surprisingly, she is quite enthusiastic about it." How did the members react to watching "Bitch X Rich2"? Yeri said, "Of course, they supported me and said it was interesting. But it seems they haven't watched all of it (laughs). I would be grateful if they did, but we are all very busy, so it's not something to be sad about." Although they are with different agencies now, Yeri stated that Red Velvet's activities will continue. She said, "There are various possibilities for music activities. No matter when we meet, we can laugh together, and I'm happy about that." She added, "I can't do much multi-activity, but I was able to do that when I was with SM, doing both acting and singing. I know the fans are waiting. There are no specific dates or plans yet, but we are open about Red Velvet's activities." During the interview, Yeri showed her natural charm. She mentioned that she only applied sunscreen before going out and showed her unadorned self on the communication platform with fans. Yeri emphasized, "In the early days of my debut, I often heard bad things like 'Is the youngest like this?' or 'Isn't she too honest?' After that time passed, trends changed, and I feel the atmosphere is different now from when I debuted. I am a devoted person. I like my current self. My motto is to live healthily."
