BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan)'s Jungkook and others, a hacker who misappropriated the names of South Korea's wealthy and embezzled assets has been extradited to South Korea. On the 13th, the South Korean Ministry of Justice revealed that, in cooperation with the National Police Agency, they extradited Mr. A, a Chinese national and the leader of a hacking organization that obtained personal information of Jungkook and corporate chairpersons, and stole over 38 billion won (about 3.8 billion yen) from financial accounts and virtual asset accounts, from Bangkok, Thailand to Incheon International Airport on the 12th. Mr. A is suspected of being a key figure in a hacking crime organization based in Thailand, having hacked six government and public institution websites from August 2023 to last April to steal personal information. He illegally activated cheap SIM cards using the acquired personal information and withdrew funds from financial accounts and cryptocurrency exchange accounts after going through identity verification procedures. The scale of the damage reached approximately 38 billion won. In particular, Jungkook's name was misappropriated for a securities account shortly after his enlistment, and about 8.4 billion won (approximately 840 million yen) worth of HYBE stocks were almost stolen, but due to prompt suspension measures, there was no actual financial damage.
