From the K-POP world, donation activities for the recovery from the Hong Kong fire disaster continue. SUPER JUNIOR stated today (28th) through their official Weibo account, "As soon as we heard the news of the large fire in Hong Kong, we all felt pain and sank into deep sadness," and revealed, "At every moment, we have deeply felt the warmth and kindness that this city of Hong Kong gives us." They continued, "This time, we would like to donate 1 million Hong Kong dollars (about 20 million yen) under the name of SUPER JUNIOR and E.L.F. (the affectionate name for SUPER JUNIOR fans) to support subsequent aid, and we sincerely hope that the wounds of the victims heal as soon as possible, and that this sharing becomes hope, and that everyone can safely overcome this difficult time." Prior to this, SM Entertainment also donated 1 million Hong Kong dollars to the Hong Kong Red Cross, stating that they would support fire rescue, subsequent evacuation assistance, and the provision of living supplies. Since then, various artists have continued to provide support. Stray Kids conveyed through their official Weibo account, "Upon hearing the news of the heartbreaking incident in Hong Kong, all members felt deep sadness," and expressed their hope that the residents affected by the fire and families facing difficulties would quickly regain their daily lives and peace, donating 1 million Hong Kong dollars. Their agency, JYP Entertainment, also revealed that they donated 2 million Hong Kong dollars (about 40 million yen). IVE stated, "We want to deliver our careful support and donated 500,000 Hong Kong dollars (about 10 million yen) for emergency rescue and disaster recovery," while EXO's Baekhyun, Xiumin, and Chen also announced through their agency's official press release that they donated 500,000 Hong Kong dollars to support recovery from the large fire incident in Hong Kong. BOYNEXTDOOR donated 500,000 Hong Kong dollars under the name of the group and their fans, ONEDOOR, stating, "We hope this donation will help the recovery and damage restoration in the area," and TWS reported, "Upon hearing the heartbreaking news, we donated 500,000 Hong Kong dollars under the name of TWS and 42 (the affectionate name for TWS fans)." Additionally, many donations and voices praying for recovery continue from others, including ZEROBASEONE's Zhang Hao, Im Siwan, and PLAVE. This fire occurred at 2:52 PM on the 26th in a 32-story high-rise apartment building in Tai Po, northern Hong Kong. According to the Secretary for Security of Hong Kong, as of 4 PM Japan time today, there are 128 dead and 79 injured. The number of missing persons is approximately 200, including 89 unidentified bodies. It is expected that the number of deceased may increase during the ongoing investigation.
