BLACKPINK’s Jennie unveiled her new song. At 1 p.m. on the 28th, Jennie released the audio for her new digital EP, “Fallen Angel,” and the music video for the title track. This digital EP includes a total of three songs: the title track “FALLEN ANGEL,” “HEAVEN,” and “Less than a Lover.” The title track “FALLEN ANGEL” is a minimalist acoustic pop song centered on a lyrical guitar melody. On top of its plain sound, Jennie’s candid vocals are layered, completing a song that conveys comfort and lingering emotion to people wandering in search of a place of peace of their own. “HEAVEN” depicts a story that describes even a relationship in which people hurt each other as heaven. Its appealing vocals and rough yet fantastical guitar sound harmonize to express the song’s emotional line. “Less than a Lover,” which was previously released as a digital single in July, is also included in this EP. The song ranked No. 1 on Apple Music’s “Today’s Top 100: Korea” chart, and also took No. 1 on YouTube’s Music Video Trending Worldwide and on iTunes “Top Songs” charts in 27 countries and regions. The music video for the title track “FALLEN ANGEL” contains the inner story hidden behind Jennie’s glamorous appearance. The video portrays the process of facing a new identity and seeking freedom, showing another side of Jennie. In particular, at the end of the music video, Jennie appears as if she is closing the viewers’ eyes, delivering a message that she wants fans to walk along that journey together with her. Following the release of the digital EP, Jennie is also preparing to release a physical EP. The physical EP “Fallen Angel,” which will be released on October 30, began pre-orders on the 26th of this month and sold out as soon as pre-orders opened. The physical EP includes six songs in total: the title track “FALLEN ANGEL,” “Less than a Lover,” “sweettooth,” “lockitdown,” “Face,” and “HEAVEN.” Among them, “sweettooth,” “lockitdown,” and “Face” are songs Jennie personally selected for her fans and are exclusive tracks included only on the physical EP.
