The unit by Red Velvet’s Irene and Seulgi, Red Velvet-IRENE & SEULGI, held their first-ever Japan-original hall tour, “IRENE & SEULGI JAPAN TOUR 2026 - blank-,” over two days, Wednesday, November 4 and Thursday, November 5, at Pacifico Yokohama in Kanagawa, bringing the tour finale to a close. This hall tour was held in seven cities and eight performances, from Fukuoka, Hyogo, Osaka, Miyagi, Hiroshima, Aichi, and finally Kanagawa, and they had delivered energetic stages at each venue. As the title “blank” suggests, the concept began from an unfilled blank space, and within a concept in which the sensibilities and artistic expressive beauty possessed by Irene and Seulgi gradually drew in color, they showed various expressions and literally colored the stage brilliantly. When the venue went dark at the opening, the two, dressed in pure white outfits, appeared atop the stairs placed at the center, with silence spreading beyond a huge see-through screen covering the front of the stage. A huge cheer erupted from the fans packed into the venue, and in a fantastical atmosphere, the performance began with “Wave,” a track from their first Japanese mini album. After that, they performed “Diamond,” and then, at the same time as a jazzy intro that seemed to cut through the silence, spotlights shone on the two, leading into “Be Natural,” which can be said to be the unit’s origin. With an arrangement that emphasized the original song’s chic, urban mood, they seamlessly transitioned into choreography using chairs, which is both their origin and their signature. They showed perfect synchronization with no discrepancy whatsoever, down to the angle of their fingertips and legs and the direction of their gaze, making this opening section present “a completed world belonging only to the two of them.” On stage, they generously showed not only the appeal of the unit but also their appeal as solo artists. Irene performed solo songs such as “Biggest Fan.” With her transparent vocals, glamorous visuals, and delicate expressiveness using the see-through screen, she completely changed the atmosphere of the venue. Seulgi performed “28 Reasons,” the title track from her solo mini album, among others. With outstanding body control, supple groove, and powerful vocals, she demonstrated an overwhelming presence as a dancer and vocalist. Six years after their unit debut, they performed all of the songs from their Japanese debut release “Cheetah,” including the title track, which was released on November 4. After changing into cute outfits with pastel pink and pastel blue and fur accents, the two performed the title track “Cheetah,” perfectly expressing the song’s title through supple steps like stalking prey and the thrilling spacing at the moment when Irene and Seulgi’s gazes crossed. Pair dance unique to the unit was incorporated, building a sharp yet elegant world. They also performed the medium-tempo R&B pop number “Fall 4 U,” the upbeat song “Free” with an exhilarating sound and positive message, and “Love Anxiety,” expressed through dramatic beat changes and delicate vocal work. They captivated the venue with vocals that made use of the delicate resonance and groove of Japanese lyrics, which are different from the songs they perform in Korea. November 4, the first day of the Kanagawa performances, was also the release day of the Japanese first mini album “Cheetah,” and they celebrated together with the many fans who filled the venue. In response to fans lamenting that stores had no stock and they still did not have it in hand, they playfully replied, “We need to make a lot more, don’t we? (laugh).” Also, since it was the timing when the music video was released, they promoted it by saying, “We worked hard to film it, so please watch the music video a lot.” In the encore, which shifted away from the edgy atmosphere of the main show, they performed energetic and adorable songs such as “Jelly” and Red Velvet’s Japanese original song “Aitai-tai.” During “Jelly,” they came down from the stage and walked through the audience, taking advantage of the closeness unique to a hall venue and exchanging warm eye contact with fans. As they looked over the entire venue and waved with smiles, some fans were seen in tears, and the excitement reached its peak of the day. There was also a happy announcement during the encore MC segment. On the center monitor, the words “Additional performances decided!” appeared, and information was displayed that additional performances had been decided for two days, Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22, 2027, at Makuhari Event Hall in Chiba, causing a huge roar of cheers from the fans in the venue. The two said, “We will show you stages and new songs you have never seen before, so let’s meet in Chiba next year,” and, sharing this joyful moment with the fans, promised to meet again in an even more powerful form. In the final song, “Aitai-tai,” the two walked from one end of the stage to the other, making intimate eye contact with the audience and showing expressions as if regretting the end of the performance. While the atmosphere remained calm and warm until the very end, the stage concluded amid the excitement of a standing ovation, further heightening anticipation for next year’s additional performances. ・From NCT’s Jaehyun and Jeno’s Japanese debuts to aespa’s tour!
