She ran an eel restaurant and did insurance sales when she had time, among other jobs. I worried that it must be tough for her to do everything alone, but she never said it was hard. What she always told me was, 'Women from Jeju Island are this strong. You must always be tough too.' At that time, I felt the seriousness of the situation. For some reason, I felt I had to protect my mother. We lived together just the two of us. Although I was living a childish life, I suddenly grew up a lot at that time."
