Continuing to update numerous records, ZEROBASEONE, the boy group representing the 5th generation of K-POP, had their Japanese 2nd EP "KAIKI LOVE," released on Wednesday, August 19, take first place on the Oricon Weekly Album Ranking dated August 31, 2026, with first-week sales of 91,000 copies. Furthermore, it also took the top spot on Billboard JAPAN’s weekly album sales chart "Top Albums Sales," released on August 26, 2026 (aggregation period: August 17, 2026 to August 23, 2026), by selling 153,306 copies. This EP, titled "KAIKI LOVE," contains a total of 3 songs under the theme of "circling back to you (going around and around to you)." The title track, "Existence," is a provided song specially written with special feelings for ZEROBASEONE by members of Omoinotake, a Japanese talented piano trio band whose representative song "Hundreds of Millions of Light Years" swept the streaming charts and also appeared at the NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen. In addition, it includes the Japanese version of "TOP 5," the title track of the Korean 6th mini album "Ascend-", and the Japanese original song "Aphrodite," which is impressive for its rhythmic R&B groove and sound that modernly reinterprets Y2K taste. On August 20, the day after the release, they held a surprise free live in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Although it was an unusual implementation announced only about 2 hours in advance, about 4,000 people gathered, causing a big topic of conversation. The enthusiasm of the fans who filled the venue once again impressed upon people the high level of attention and the large amount of support for ZEROBASEONE. After his first solo fan meeting in Tokyo in July, he will perform “2026 KIM JI WOONG FANMEETING 'TAKE1: Unique Story in OSAKA'” at YAMATO ARENA on September 27, with two sessions and ticket sales starting in late August.
