BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan)'s RM collaborates with the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA). Today (the 3rd), the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art announced the special exhibition 'RM x SFMOMA' to be held with RM. The exhibition will run from October 2026 to February 2027, showcasing over 200 pieces including RM's personal collection and works held by the museum. It will organically connect the visual and conceptual contexts of both collections, providing a glimpse into RM's artistic sensibility and collecting aesthetics. RM will participate as a curator. This exhibition marks the first collaboration with a K-POP artist since the establishment of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. The museum highly values RM's tastes and love for contemporary art, having proposed the project first. The exhibition will be a joint project between the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and RM. RM stated, 'We live in an era defined by boundaries. I hope this exhibition will serve as a space to reflect on the boundaries between the East and West, Korea and America, modern and contemporary, individual and universal.' He further expressed, 'There is no fixed way to appreciate it, but I hope it becomes a small yet solid bridge for many people.' Janet Bishop, the chief curator representing the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, conveyed, 'Visitors will have an unprecedented opportunity to experience the dialogue between RM's beautiful and contemplative collection of paintings and sculptures alongside the museum's holdings.' RM's collection includes works by masters representing Korean contemporary art and many renowned artists from around the world. A diverse array of works from various nations and cultural spheres will be displayed, with a significant number of publicly exhibited pieces being introduced to the audience for the first time. The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is one of the largest contemporary art museums in America, housing excellent collections across diverse fields including paintings, sculptures, photography, architecture, design, and media art by global artists.
