Stray Kids made a comeback with "LALALALA". On the morning of the 10th, a press conference was held at Conrad Seoul Grand Bloom Hall in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul to commemorate the release of Stray Kids' mini album "LALALALA-STAR". The mini album "LALALALA-STAR" expresses Stray Kids' message and confidence that their joy continues in any situation. The title track "LALALALA" was produced by 3RACHA, the group's in-house production team consisting of Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han, and showcases Stray Kids' unique musical charm. The repeated melody of the chorus and the rock elements add intensity to the song, and the interesting lyrics that utilize homophones double the enjoyment of listening. In addition to this, the album includes 8 songs, including "MEGAVERSE," "Blind Spot," "COMFLEX," "Hide," "Leave," the Korean version of the title track of their first EP album "Social Path (Feat. LiSA)," and "LALALALA" (Rock Ver.). Bang Chan revealed his thoughts on the comeback at the press conference, saying, "Even though we had busy activities including concerts and tours, we prepared 'LALALALA-STAR' to show a better side to STAY (the fans)." Since their previous release "S-Class" was well-received, it was important to maintain that momentum. When asked if there is a connection between the two albums, Bang Chan said, "Last time, we left an impression with '★★★★★ (5-STAR),' but this time, we wanted to show the free-spirited rock star side. We also arranged the songs freely. I think you can see the new side of Stray Kids." Stray Kids, who held their debut showcase at Jangchung Arena, recently completed their Japan Dome Tour. When asked about their feelings about this growth, Hyunjin said, "I still vividly remember the performance at Jangchung Arena. Every time the venue gets bigger, there is a moment when I look at the empty seats during rehearsal. I always think that the moment will come when this space will be completely filled, and even during the 4 Dome Tour, I felt that the venue was so huge that I wondered if we could really use all of it. When STAYs sit down and my heart is filled, I realize that each performance is important." Seungmin also showed a humble attitude, saying, "Just because the venue gets bigger doesn't mean our skills improve, so I'm working hard to show the fans who come to see us a stage that they won't regret." What is the secret to Stray Kids' popularity, which has gained a large following both domestically and internationally? Changbin said, "Whenever we go on tour, I can't believe that people in distant places imitate our songs and come to like them. It's a moment when I feel (our popularity) every time." He continued, "It's embarrassing to say it's the secret to our popularity, but STAYs are very happy with the stories we write ourselves and our unique personalities, so we are grateful. We want to continue writing music with our own unique colors." Along with this, Seungmin explained, "It's embarrassing for us to mention it ourselves, but as a member of Stray Kids, I'm grateful to 3RACHA, who is in charge of composing, for incorporating the stories we want to tell into good songs while thinking about the members. Since many members have also started working on new songs, I think fans can expect that aspect. It seems that our sincerity is also being conveyed to the fans." What is the driving force behind Stray Kids, who have already celebrated their 5th debut anniversary, continuing to grow? Changbin said, "When I achieved goals one by one alone, I felt both sincerity and emptiness. The power and synergy of moving forward together with the members is exceptional. I think we gained a great driving force while feeling sincerity together, and I think STAYs' presence is the biggest driving force. When I see the fans' reactions and feel STAYs' love after putting in effort and sweat until the stage is revealed, I feel an indescribable sense of accomplishment." When asked why Stray Kids chose a one-character title in Korean for their comeback with "LALALALA" following "S-Class," Bang Chan revealed, "When we were working on 'LALALALA,' we also worked on 'S-Class' together. At that time, we were attracted to the idea of having a one-character title within 3RACHA. In May, we released 'S-Class,' and we agreed that it would be good to release 'LALALALA' at an appropriate time, so we discussed it with the company and it turned out that way." Seungmin said, "The connection between 'S-Class' and 'LALALALA' is linked by the theme of 'special people who enjoy life.' I hope that people who listen to it will enjoy that aspect as well." The point dance also piqued curiosity. When Felix said, "The part where we say 'LALALALA' is the point. We raise our hands and do the wave dance," all the members stood up and showed the dance. When asked if there are any themes they would like to explore in the future, Changbin said, "For now, I want to try themes that we haven't done before. Currently, what we are experiencing? Or things we haven't experienced before. In the past, when we took a break, we rested by doing the same things as before, but now I want to try new things and gain experience even during breaks. I can't say right away, 'We will handle this theme!' but I want to handle themes that stimulate curiosity." Bang Chan, one of the members of 3RACHA, said, "We are still working on producing songs, but recently, we have been pondering about such things (themes). We have a lot of things we want to talk about, and even if it's the same topic, we can express it differently. We are continuing to create the music of future Stray Kids." Stray Kids, who expressed their new album with the flavors of "spicy" and "frustrating" in the past, were asked what kind of taste they want to show with "LALALALA-STAR." Lee Know said, "Recently, fruit candies called Tangful are popular, so even if we are cold and hard on the outside, I want to show a sweet side on the inside." Seungmin answered, "Speaking of taste, umami is important, so I want to show the taste of 'Kimchi Stew' simmered with bone broth." Stray Kids ranked first on the Billboard 200 with their mini albums "ODDINARY" and "MAXIDENT" in 2022, and their full album "★★★★★ (5-STAR)" in June 2023, proving their presence as the "leader of the 4th generation of K-POP." In July, they performed as the headliner of the first-ever K-POP artist at "Lollapalooza," and in September, they won the "Best K-POP" category at the "2023 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS (VMS)" with their latest song "S-Class" held at the Prudential Center in New Jersey, USA. They continue to make a comeback with their new song "LALALALA-STAR," which they worked on themselves, and deliver musical "joy" to fans around the world. Stray Kids' new mini album "LALALALA-STAR" and the title track "LALALALA" will be released at 2 PM on the 10th, or 0 AM according to Eastern Standard Time in the US. Stray Kids, who held a Japan Dome Tour, revealed their feelings at the time, saying, "My heart is full... I want to continue to improve my skills."
