The agency, EDAM Entertainment, revealed yesterday (the 11th) through an official document that 'we have proceeded with criminal complaints and civil lawsuits against a total of 96 people in 2025 through our legal representative, the law firm SHINWON.' As a main progress, the court imposed a fine of 5 million won (about 500,000 yen) on those who spread false rumors about the artist, 'spy allegations.' In a lawsuit for mental damages against those who raised false plagiarism allegations on X (formerly Twitter) and were accused of violating copyright law, the court accepted the full amount of the damage claim of 30 million won (about 3 million yen). Additionally, the court sentenced a person who repeatedly spread false rumors about the artist's involvement in baseless serious crimes and related to nationality and identity, creating sexually harassing posts, to 10 months in prison with a 2-year probation, ordering the defendant to undergo probation. Furthermore, a criminal complaint against a cyber bully (a controversial YouTuber) who spread defamation and false facts about the artist through YouTube is currently under investigation by the authorities. Regarding users who spread false facts and defamation against the artist on Threads, the agency stated that they are filing a civil damage claim and are proceeding with information disclosure requests in American courts to identify the users. They also clarified that they are currently advancing legal measures against additional malicious posts. The agency warned, 'We will continue to take strong legal action against any illegal acts that threaten the honor and human rights of our artists, as well as their safety. We clearly state that we will pursue strict accountability against the perpetrators without any agreements or leniency.'
