Big Planet Made, to which VIVIZ and Lee Moo-jin belong, reported to the Fair Trade Commission that Kakao Entertainment, a music distribution company, imposed discriminatory distribution fees, but Kakao Entertainment countered that they had not engaged in any unfair transactions. In January of this year, Big Planet Made raised concerns about MelOn, operated by Kakao Entertainment, receiving discriminatory distribution fees from affiliated and non-affiliated planning companies, and reported it to the Fair Trade Commission, securing related testimony. Kakao Entertainment stated that they have been negotiating with numerous partner companies in Korea and abroad for many years, and have signed album and content distribution contracts based on strict and objective criteria, and have not provided any unfair benefits to specific partner companies. They emphasized that they will cooperate actively to reveal the truth through lawful procedures if the Fair Trade Commission's investigation is initiated, and will protect the rights of all members of the music industry who comply with legitimate principles and strive to maintain the growth and fair order of the Korean music industry.
