ZEROBASEONE’s Sung Hanbin revealed why he does not drink alcohol. Recently, a video titled “Oh, President Sung~! It’s been a while, nice to see you” was released on Girl’s Day Hye-ri’s YouTube channel, “Hye-ri’s Club.” In the video, Sung Hanbin, who recently released his first solo debut album, appeared as a guest. Hye-ri asked, “How much do you usually drink?” Sung Hanbin replied, “I haven’t really drunk that much recently, but when I was a freshman in college, I drank about one and a half bottles.” In response to the question, “Do you usually not drink much?” he said, “I don’t drink because I don’t really like it. When I used to drink a lot, I also gained quite a bit of weight.” Hye-ri asked, “Right. You must have dieted a lot, then?” Regarding the release of photos from his school days, Sung Hanbin said, “That’s right. I dieted a lot. Those are photos from middle school and high school,” and confessed, “When I drank in my freshman year of college, I gained a lot of weight because I ate a lot of snacks with the alcohol.” He then explained why he began to stay away from alcohol, saying, “At that time, I realized it. If I was going to continue being an idol, I thought I had to keep away from alcohol. If I end up in a situation where I have to drink with others, I only drink one or two glasses then, and it happens once or twice a year, if at all.” He added, “Recently, I’ve become a little obsessed with draft beer, and when I went to Japan, I drank a little draft beer.” Sung Hanbin, who was surprised by how delicious Japanese draft beer was, said, “Recently, I went on a trip to Japan with friends for my birthday,” and added, “My friends said to me, ‘You still haven’t tried Japanese draft beer? You don’t know one of life’s pleasures, do you?’ I thought, ‘Really, that much?’ but in fact Japanese draft beer was on a different level. I feel like the smoothness is different.”
