Every Saturday at 11:00 p.m., the music program "Venue101," delivered live from NHK Studio 101. Under the theme "At 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, live is born," MCs Ryuuichi Hamie and Erika Ikuta, together with guest artists, deliver lively and passionate live performances. This time, the program will leave Studio 101 and, under the title "Venue101 EXTRA," hold its second public recording of the fiscal year at NHK Hall. This event will be broadcast over two weeks. In WEEK 1, which airs on the 26th, live performances by four artist groups will be delivered. In addition, the sight of the artists getting excited together in the "artist seats" set up among the audience is a must-see! They will deliver a hot live performance with 2,800 audience members. The first act of the live is Da-iCE, who are celebrating their 15th anniversary as a group this year and are increasingly gaining momentum, with their long-awaited dome performance scheduled for next February. They will perform "Unlimited," written and composed by members Taiki Kudo and Sota Hanamura. The long sustained note in the chorus, "Motto ikeru" ("We can go even further"), is powerful and stirs the hearts of the audience. With that overwhelming performance, M!LK's Shunta Sono in the artist seats also cannot help but...? Be sure to pay attention to the live performance, which is full of "Da-iCE-ness" even after they finish singing. M!LK will perform "Jikuu Koete Universe," the concluding chapter of their three-part series themed around "love," following "Suki Sugite Met!" and "Bakuretsu Aishiteru." This time, in connection with that song, they will hold the "Jikuu Koete Drawing Grand Prix." The drawing challenge, which will test the members' drawing skills and imagination, is "Jutaro Yamanaka 50 years in the future, beyond time and space." Each of the five people, including Yamanaka himself, will create an illustration full of individuality, and the rankings will be decided by votes from the NHK Hall audience with the authors hidden. Who will win the Grand Prix, and what kind of Yamanaka did they draw!? And what was the work that made Venue's "master artist" Ikuchan say, "That was shocking..."!? As a special project this time, Onew of SHINee, who loves J-POP deeply, will appear. As the leader of SHINee, he has been active, and since covering Hideaki Tokunaga's "Rainy Blue" in 2014, he has sung many Japanese songs, such as "Uroko" (Motohiro Hata), "Everything" (MISIA), and "Kirakira" (Kazumasa Oda). What Onew will perform this time is KIRINJI's famous song "Aliens." Please be captivated by his beautiful voice tinged with a certain melancholy. In addition, there will be a moment that heats up the venue as Hamaiku perform "love10" and M!LK perform "Suki Sugite Met!" a cappella. This leaves M!LK both excited and very humbled... New School Leaders, who have stood on stages in 41 cities overseas so far. They have also appeared at some of the world's largest festivals, such as Coachella and Lollapalooza, and are now one of Japan's globally recognized artists. What they especially value on overseas stages is expressing themselves with their whole bodies and communicating. So this time, to measure their body-language skills, they will take on a gesture game! In connection with the song they will perform, "TTTTOKYO," the theme is "things related to Tokyo." For one minute, MIZYU and RIN will express the successive prompts with gestures, while SUZUKA and KANON will guess the prompts and answer. Opposing them are the five members of Da-iCE. Venue101 EXTRA is a special live music program from Venue101, recorded at NHK Hall and broadcast over two weeks. WEEK2 on October 3 will also include Ayumu Imazu, ≒JOY, BALLISTIK BOYZ, and M!LK, with crossover appearances by performers from both weeks.
ONEW has released his 4th Japanese single, "KAKERA -Fate’s Piece-." The puzzle-themed project includes original songs, cover tracks, and version-specific coupling songs that highlight different charms of his voice. A download campaign begins September 16, and concerts follow in Tokyo.

SM Entertainment and KDDI will hold the Japan-only “SMTOWN RUN CLUB 26 × au Wellness Virtual Run” from Sept. 28 to Oct. 4, 2026. Inspired by Minho’s London run, it lets fans share a sense of unity with artists through daily walking and running. Tickets are 5,500 yen, and finishers who reach 15,000 steps receive Japan-exclusive prizes.
A recent Instagram post from TVXQ showed Changmin, SHINee’s Minho, and EXO’s Chanyeol together in a “Che-sang Crew” shot. Their casual running outfits still highlighted their visuals, while Changmin’s Han River photo showed his trained physique. The KGMA organizing committee revealed the solo, band, and trot lineup for the 3rd Korea Grand Music Awards, to be held November 7-8 at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome. The roster includes Dayoung, Minho, Young K, Yuna, Choi Yena, LUCY, TOUCHED, Novelbright, Park Ji-hyun, and Jang Minho.
SHINee’s Onew announced a comeback for October 20 by releasing a trailer for his first single album, “Illusion,” on his official YouTube channel. It is his first release in about seven months since his fifth mini album, “TOUGH LOVE,” and it will feature three title tracks.
SHINee’s Taemin released his new mini album “PHASE 1: Soft Violence,” a work built on the contrast between “soft” and “violence.” The album explores beauty’s tension, contradictions, and hidden cruelty, and includes 11 tracks, double title songs “FLOAT” and “Gooey,” and a new MV for “FLOAT.”
SHINee’s Minho presents a deep narrative of love and farewell through his 2nd mini album, Make it hot. The album includes the sensual yet refreshing pop dance track “Liquid (Feat. BELLE of KISS OF LIFE),” the medium-tempo R&B song “Ending Scene,” and the Afro-house-based “Love Me Now.” The teaser image, released on the 27th, shows him creating a unique mood against a sunset-lit island backdrop. The album will be released on September 7 at 6 p.m. through music streaming sites.
