ASND, the agency of Red Velvet’s Wendy and fromis_9, has taken a stance on violations of artists’ privacy and hinted at legal action. Yesterday (the 15th), the agency posted through its official SNS: “We sincerely thank you for the interest and warm support you have shown to our artists Wendy and fromis_9. Recently, there have been incidents that threaten the artists’ safety or invade their privacy. In order to protect the artists’ safety and rights and to build a healthy culture together with fans, we provide the following guidance.” It continued, “Please protect the artists’ safety and respect their privacy. Actions such as approaching the artist themselves or vehicles in transit too closely in order to hand over letters or gifts, stepping into the roadway or obstructing the movement of vehicles, actions that threaten the safety of others including the artist, entering the artist’s private space without permission or infringing on their personal schedule, illegally obtaining, selling, or buying information about the artist, and loitering around our company, staying for long periods, or trespassing without permission may threaten the safety of the artist and those around them.” It also said, “For safety reasons, please understand that we may speak to you or stop you depending on the situation.
