ILLIT spoke about how they felt about making a comeback as a four-member group without Moka. On the afternoon of the 26th, ILLIT held a showcase to commemorate the release of their 5th mini album, “BREAK EVEN,” at Blue Square in Yongsan District, Seoul. Moka suspended activities in April this year for health reasons. Afterward, she returned through KBS 2TV’s “Music Bank,” but in June she again announced a hiatus from activities. Minju said, “This time, we prepared for a comeback as four members for the first time. Because Moka is not here, we felt the empty space very strongly. I think it suited Moka very well too, so I’m very sorry that we couldn’t do it together. Moka also, at concerts and every time we meet, supports us a lot, saying that our content is wonderful. We also receive a lot of strength from that. Although this promotion will be done by four members, we will work hard to make up for Moka’s part as well,” she said. Iroha revealed, “Moka noona supported us a lot, saying that she really likes this song. She has a strong desire to return to the fans as soon as possible, and she is working hard to recover. Recently, all of us gathered and also talked about what kind of music we want to do from now on. Please wait until noona comes back.” Also, in the music video for this title track, which was unveiled for the first time at this event, actor Song Kang made a surprise appearance, drawing attention. Yuna said, “When I met senior Song Kang directly at the music video filming set, he encouraged us by saying that he is paying attention to our activities, so I would like to take this opportunity to thank him.” A question was also raised about the controversy regarding the sexual objectification of female police officers that arose over the concert stage costumes. At the time, ILLIT wore outfits that evoked female police officers, such as short skirts that fit tightly to the body and hats, and unveiled the stage for the new song “You’re Under Arrest” for the first time. As female police officer characters’ costumes have recently been changed from skirts to pants, voices of criticism were raised that the problematic stage costumes were going against the times. In relation to this, Yuna replied, “First of all, after we first unveiled it on tour, I was really happy and also surprised that it received such a huge amount of attention. No matter what kind of attention it is, I think it is truly something to be grateful for that people are interested in our stage.” She continued, “As you can probably tell if you watch the music video, based on the concept of ‘black agents,’ we plan to show various stylings in the remaining stages as well. At that time too, please give us lots of attention and love.” ILLIT’s new album title track, “You’re Under Arrest,” is an electropop song characterized by the sound of whistles, sharp synths, and vocal effects. The 5th mini album “BREAK EVEN” will be released through various music streaming sites at 6 p.m. on the 26th. ・ILLIT pre-releases the stage for the new song “You’re Under Arrest” at a concert!
