HYBE has formed a partnership with the Los Angeles Football Club, an American professional soccer (MLS) team, to hold a K-Culture festival where K-POP meets sports. Los Angeles FC is the team that player Son Heung-min belongs to, and this is the first time HYBE has partnered with an American professional soccer team. As part of the partnership, HYBE will sponsor a K-Culture event at the first home game of the 'Audi 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs' on the 29th of this month (local time) at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, USA. This event is planned to focus on the cultural ties between Los Angeles and Korea, promoting the appeal of K-Culture to local sports fans. Los Angeles has the largest Korean population in the United States. Through this event, HYBE and Los Angeles FC plan to showcase an immersive K-Culture festival that blends Korean culture, music, and community to fans visiting the stadium. First, at BMO Stadium, the home ground of Los Angeles FC, K-POP will play as background music during the game, and a light show will be held in sync with the music of HYBE MUSIC GROUP artists such as BTS, SEVENTEEN, and KATSEYE. The 22,000-seat BMO Stadium is also known as a concert venue for artists like BTS's J-HOPE, SEVENTEEN, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, and ENHYPEN. Audience members will be able to experience K-POP's cheering culture through a wristband-type cheering band, lasers, and fireworks synchronized with the music. Local popular Korean restaurants will also present fusion Korean cuisine inspired by the culture of Koreatown. HYBE's Chairman Bang Si-hyuk stated, 'The commonality between music and sports is their power to unite people beyond language and region,' adding, 'It is meaningful to collaborate for the first time with Los Angeles FC and MLS in Los Angeles, where various cultures coexist, and I am happy to deepen our relationship with local fans.' Isaac Lee, Chairman of HYBE AMERICA, said, 'Through the partnership with Los Angeles FC, we have strengthened our presence and cultural influence in the United States, a key growth area for HYBE,' and noted, 'This event will showcase the power of fandom that connects sports, music, food, and diverse cultures, and HYBE will continue to create entertainment that connects with the world through music, storytelling, and live experiences.' Larry Friedman, co-president of Los Angeles FC, stated, 'Los Angeles FC understands the power of passionate fan culture well. As HYBE's first MLS partner, this collaboration will provide an unforgettable experience that showcases the energy of K-POP and the inclusivity of Los Angeles FC and Los Angeles.' Through this partnership with Los Angeles FC, HYBE will continue to spread Korean culture mediated by K-POP and expand new fan experiences.
