ILLIT celebrated its 2nd anniversary on March 25. They debuted on March 25, 2022, building the unique sensibility and aesthetics referred to as 'ILLIT core,' capturing fans' hearts instantly. While maintaining a consistent identity across music, performance, and visuals, they have continuously expanded their spectrum with new challenges in each album. ILLIT's relentless challenges have led to brilliant achievements, including three consecutive albums on the U.S. Billboard Main Album Chart 'Billboard 200' from their debut to last year's 3rd mini-album 'bomb.' The title track of their 1st single, 'NOT CUTE ANYMORE,' ranked 7th on the 'Bubbling Under Hot 100,' increasing the potential for a global hit following their debut song 'Magnetic.' Their solo concert scale has also expanded significantly. Last year, they sold out all eight performances of their fan concert '2025 ILLIT GLITTER DAY' (hereafter 'GLITTER DAY') held in Korea and Japan, and they are set to hold their first live tour 'ILLIT LIVE 'PRESS START♥︎'' (hereafter 'PRESS START') across 14 performances in seven cities both domestically and internationally. With their growing global influence, they plan to release their 4th mini-album 'MAMIHLAPINATAPAI' on April 30. Expectations are high for how they will lead trends among teenagers and those in their twenties with their innovative music and concepts. -- Please tell us your thoughts on reaching your 2nd anniversary. Yuna: It feels profound to think that we've reached our 2nd anniversary so quickly. I vividly remember the moment we debuted as five members and the memories from our 1st anniversary. I'm looking forward to many experiences together as ILLIT. Minju: Looking back, we've accomplished so much. I'm filled with gratitude for everyone who supported us to reach this moment. Above all, I want to say 'thank you, I love you' to GLLIT (the name of our fans). Mocha: When we debuted, the 2nd anniversary felt so far away, but as we ran hard without losing focus, here we are. I will continue to work hard to engage in more diverse and wonderful activities. Wonhee: It's really strange that ILLIT is already two years old. The happy memories we've built together with GLLIT over these two years have become a great strength for me. I'm excited to see what fun things await us in the future with GLLIT. Iroha: There have been so many precious moments so far. I'm especially happy that I could meet more GLLIT last year. I think there will be more opportunities like that in the future. I will work hard, so please watch over us. -- What are your thoughts on successfully completing the Seoul performance of your first live tour 'PRESS START'? Yuna: Since it was our first solo live tour, there were things I felt were lacking and regrets, but I feel fulfilled to have completed the performance that we prepared with GLLIT in mind. Minju: It still feels like a dream that we did a live tour. I had so much fun on stage, so it remains a memorable experience. We will show you more of our growth, so please look forward to the remaining 'PRESS START' tour. Mocha: I was more nervous than I expected, but I started to enjoy it more as the performances went on. I'm really glad I could see GLLIT up close. Wonhee: Since it was the opening performance of ILLIT's first live tour, I was very nervous. There were frustrating parts, but every moment was filled with happiness. I'm so excited to think that I will meet GLLIT in more regions. Iroha: I was moved to see GLLIT filling the venue. I sincerely thank the staff and members who worked hard together to ensure the Seoul performance went well. -- Your attempts to expand the team's spectrum with each new song are impressive. Are there any challenges or changes you feel you have successfully embraced as ILLIT? Yuna: Every album has been a new challenge and meaningful, but it was an interesting experience to break the 'cute image' that ILLIT had with our 1st single 'NOT CUTE ANYMORE.' Minju: I think every song of ILLIT has a different atmosphere. From the genre to expressions on stage and costumes, yet all of them contain 'ILLIT's unique color,' which is our strength. Mocha: We strive to show fresh appearances each time, but personally, I wanted to perfect 'NOT CUTE ANYMORE,' so I worked even harder. I'm also preparing hard for the title track 'It's Me' from our 4th mini-album 'MAMIHLAPINATAPAI,' so please look forward to it. Wonhee: There has always been 'ILLIT-ness,' but I think this is a result created because of the members and staff. ILLIT will continue to walk our own path. Iroha: I always want to show new appearances, but I'm particularly looking forward to this 4th mini-album. I focused a lot on expressions and performances. I want to surprise everyone by showing that 'ILLIT can do this too!' -- You achieved your goal of a 'solo performance' for your 1st anniversary and received great love in music. When do you feel you have grown the most through your activities? Yuna: Looking back from last year's fan concert 'GLITTER DAY' to this tour, I feel I've grown a lot this year. I've seen my ability to respond to unexpected situations on stage improve, and I'm learning in many areas through performances. Minju: The solo performance was a goal for our 1st anniversary, but it was also a big goal I had since dreaming of being an artist. So, 'PRESS START' has great meaning for me and has become a trigger for me to feel my growth. Mocha: I think I've become mentally stronger. I used to feel anxious or nervous on stage, but now I feel I can control myself. Wonhee: While preparing for this first tour, I realized how much we have grown. I'm proud to be artists who can hold solo performances. Iroha: When we debuted, I was always worried about making mistakes on stage, but now I can enjoy it. I can now try various things like, 'Maybe I will try this on stage this time?' -- Do you have any new goals or dreams you want to achieve this year? Yuna: My goal this year is for more GLLIT to like ILLIT's songs. I also want to create opportunities for more people to become fans of ILLIT. Minju: Last year, GLLIT from various regions supported us, so I want to meet as many of them as possible. I also want to challenge more genres and expand our musical spectrum. Mocha: My goal is to continuously show new charms of ILLIT so that GLLIT won't get bored. I will work hard to show a more grown-up version of ourselves. Wonhee: Since our first live tour has started this year, my goal is to deliver the best stage to GLLIT worldwide. Iroha: First, I want to showcase ILLIT's diverse charms through our 4th mini-album 'MAMIHLAPINATAPAI' to be released on April 30. 'PRESS START' will continue until August, and my goal this year is to successfully finish it while learning and growing throughout the process. -- What message do you want to convey to the members who have been running hard for the past two years? Yuna: Thank you for working hard and trusting each other during tough times, saying 'Fighting!' Minju: Let's continue to have fun together as five. I would be happy if we can keep supporting and helping each other like we do now. Thank you always. Mocha: We've run hard to reach our 2nd anniversary. Let's keep running together for 5, 10 years. Wonhee: To the members who have been my closest support and have grown together, I'm always grateful, and I'm cheering for you the most. Fighting this year too! Iroha: I want to say 'thank you so much' to the members who have always worked hard and run together no matter what. Let's continue to live healthily and happily. -- Please send a message to GLLIT as you continue to create more memories together. Yuna: To all GLLIT and those who will become GLLIT in the future! We will do our best to show you good songs and stages, so we would be happy if you love us a lot. Thank you always. Minju: We still have many days to meet, right? I will work hard to make GLLIT happier and create many fun memories together. Mocha: The reason I can achieve my goals every year is all thanks to GLLIT. I promise to show a figure that GLLIT can be proud of. Wonhee: Thank you so much for making me shine as ILLIT's Wonhee. The power I receive from GLLIT is enormous, but I also want to be a source of strength for GLLIT. I will work hard to become that, so please watch over me.
