In the first part of MBC's '2024 Chuseok Special Idol Star Championship' broadcast yesterday (16th) in Korea, the preliminary and final rounds of the 60m race were held. Among 72 idols dreaming of becoming new 'athletic idols,' the women's final included CSR's Soyoung, BADVILLAIN's Kelly, tripleS's Nien, Kep1er's Shen Xiaoting, Candy Shop's Sui, and KISS OF LIFE's Julie. The men's final featured AMPERS&ONE's Kim Seungmo, &TEAM's Maki, Fuma, The Wind's Thanathorn, LUN8's Kaeru, and WayV's Xiaojun. Commentator Yoon Yochun expected Nien to take first place. However, she, who was first in the preliminaries, was overtaken by Shen Xiaoting in the final moments, with a difference of just 0.09 seconds. Shen Xiaoting, who won first place, said, 'I'm very happy to win a gold medal again this year.' In the men's 60m race, Fuma showcased explosive speed, earning the title of the fastest male idol of 2024. He expressed his joy, saying, 'I want to share this joy with my &TEAM members and fans. The final score was a decisive victory for the Center Union at 45 to 73. Commentator Heawon noted, 'Last time NMIXX participated in the 'Idol Athletics Championships,' they had ambiguous results in the relay, but they are still the same.'
