SHINee's Taemin has established a new milestone as a Korean male solo artist. On the 11th (local time), Taemin held a solo performance for about 50 minutes on the Mojave stage in Indio, California, USA. This is the first time a Korean male solo singer has been included in the official lineup of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the largest music festival in America, and has adorned a solo stage. The highlight of this performance was the symbolic opening utilizing 'Sphere.' The first section began with a performance breaking through a giant egg-shaped sphere, visualizing the message of 'self-liberation' from the hardships and original sins imposed by others, overwhelming the audience. Taemin opened this section with 'Sexy In The Air,' followed by 'WANT,' and then performed new songs 'Permission' and 'PARASITE' in succession, completing an epic that harmonized perfectly with the sphere behind the stage. In particular, the new English song 'PARASITE' left a deep impression with its theme of 'disgust' in modern society. The use of projection mapping to display translated lyrics and quotes in Korean on stage stood out. The sensory visuals of Hangul flowing like water over Taemin and the dancers effectively conveyed the essential message of the songs beyond language barriers. In the middle of the performance, Taemin showcased his representative works 'MOVE,' 'Guilty,' and 'Heaven,' dominating the stage with his unique sensual dance lines. Following that, he presented the shocking new song 'Frankenstein,' then released explosive energy through 'Advice' and 'IDEA.' In the latter half of the performance, he successively performed 'Let Me Be The One,' 'Sober,' and '1004 (Oct 4th).' It was an unusual development to unveil six new songs for the first time at Coachella. After finishing the stage, Taemin expressed through his agency, 'I have been waiting for a long time to stand on the Coachella stage,' and added, 'I am really happy to share this time with so many people today. I want to repay you with better stages and music in the future.' He continued, 'I hope this moment will be cherished for a long time and become a good memory for everyone,' conveying his heartfelt feelings. The atmosphere at the venue was incredible. The Mojave stage was crowded with tens of thousands of fans, who sang along to the Korean lyrics, demonstrating Taemin's global influence. Local audiences praised it as 'the pinnacle of artistic depth that a K-POP solo artist can show,' and Taemin's stage footage became a hot topic on social media like Instagram. This stage was Taemin's first major global activity since recently transferring to the AI entertainment tech company Galaxy Corporation. The combination of Galaxy Corporation's technological capabilities and Taemin's artistry has been evaluated as creating a work that transcends mere performance. However, during the peak of the performance of 'IDEA,' while being streamed online, there was a sound interruption for 8 seconds. The reconnected sound was also not normal. The noise that lasted about a minute disrupted the audience's immersion. Fans expressed disappointment, saying, 'Why does an audio problem occur at the highlight moment?' but also encouraged him, saying, 'Taemin's stage was perfect' and 'The performance was amazing.' ONEW has released his 4th Japanese single, "KAKERA -Fate’s Piece-." The puzzle-themed project includes original songs, cover tracks, and version-specific coupling songs that highlight different charms of his voice. A download campaign begins September 16, and concerts follow in Tokyo.

SM Entertainment and KDDI will hold the Japan-only “SMTOWN RUN CLUB 26 × au Wellness Virtual Run” from Sept. 28 to Oct. 4, 2026. Inspired by Minho’s London run, it lets fans share a sense of unity with artists through daily walking and running. Tickets are 5,500 yen, and finishers who reach 15,000 steps receive Japan-exclusive prizes.

The KGMA organizing committee revealed the solo, band, and trot lineup for the 3rd Korea Grand Music Awards, to be held November 7-8 at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome. The roster includes Dayoung, Minho, Young K, Yuna, Choi Yena, LUCY, TOUCHED, Novelbright, Park Ji-hyun, and Jang Minho.
SHINee’s Onew announced a comeback for October 20 by releasing a trailer for his first single album, “Illusion,” on his official YouTube channel. It is his first release in about seven months since his fifth mini album, “TOUGH LOVE,” and it will feature three title tracks.
