Seungkwan from SEVENTEEN is in talks to star in the new drama 'Water, Wood, Gold,' marking his first serious acting role.

SEVENTEEN's Seungkwan is challenging serious acting through the new drama 'Water, Wood, Gold' (tentative title). Today (22nd), his agency Pledis Entertainment revealed to Newsen that 'Seungkwan is adjusting his appearance in 'Water, Wood, Gold.' The new drama 'Water, Wood, Gold' deals with the romance between a male chef and a woman with a deep connection to a restaurant. Actress Shin Mina is positively considering the role, and actor Lee Jinwook is mentioned as a candidate for the male lead. If Seungkwan confirms his appearance in 'Water, Wood, Gold,' it will be his first serious acting venture since his debut in 2015. Last year, he appeared in MBC's volleyball variety show 'New Director Kim Yeonkyung' and is currently hosting the web variety 'Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo' released weekly on YouTube. Seungkwan successfully held a unit concert 'DxS [Serenade] ON STAGE - INCHEON' with DK from the 17th to 19th at Incheon Inspire Arena. Seungkwan and DK will continue their tour with performances in Chiba (April 29-30), Daegu (May 30-31), Macau (June 6), and Kaohsiung (July 25). They will also perform at the '18th Seoul Jazz Festival 2026' on May 22 in the Olympic Park area of Songpa, Seoul. Additionally, SEVENTEEN has a fan meeting scheduled. Recently, they successfully concluded their tour 'SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR 'NEW_'' which attracted about 900,000 spectators (combined online and offline), and they will hold fan meetings at Tokyo Dome (May 13-14) and Kyocera Dome Osaka (May 23-24). They plan to return to Incheon Asiad Main Stadium for the '2026 SVT FAN MEETING 'SEVENTEEN in CARAT LAND' on June 20-21.
