THE BOYZ has made a comeback with their 10th mini-album 'a;effect'. The 10th mini-album 'a;effect' contains the ambition to create a big wave in the music world and have a strong influence. The title track 'Stylish' is a minimal hip-hop based pop track that sensibly expresses THE BOYZ's unique style of freedom and frankness. --- After about 4 months since the 3rd full album, how do you feel about this comeback? Jacob: I’m happy to be able to release a new album sooner than I thought. I’m looking forward to activities with a new style. Hyunjae: I’m really excited and happy thinking about spending time with THE B (THE BOYZ's fans). Juyoung: In this hot summer, like the saying 'treat heat with heat', we have prepared various appearances to heat things up even more. I hope you look forward to it. New: We have come back with a completely different concept from the previous work! I think we can show our diversity and growth! --- Please introduce the 10th mini-album 'a;effect' and the title track 'Stylish'. Younghoon: This album includes a song from the band unit, and the members of the band unit practiced really hard! Also, I personally think the title track 'Stylish' is a very addictive song. Please look forward to it. Eric: The title track is a number filled with confidence. It’s not a love song, but I think both the lyrics and performance are attractive, expressing one’s own confidence. --- What are the killing parts (the parts that capture people's hearts) and highlights of the stage for the title track? Hyunjae: I think the cool group dance and performance that we complete will be a highlight. Sonu: My stylishness. Because there’s the lyric 'Stylish' in my part, I think if you focus on that part, you’ll enjoy listening even more. --- What part did you put the most effort into during the album preparation process? Jacob: I focused the most on recording and performance. Especially for 'Stylish', I worked hard to feel relaxed and cool, and that was difficult. Juyoung: When recording the title track, I put in a lot of effort to sing in a conversational way, relaxing my part. --- A notable point in the new album is that it includes a band unit song, which is a first since debut. Can you tell us the behind-the-scenes story of the preparation process? Kevin: Everyone really worked hard. It was impressive that the members who were new to instruments brought guitars, keyboards, and drum pads to practice choreography and during filming. New: Thinking about doing a band with the members made my heart race! It was really fun during recording, and I thought the members practicing hard beside me were really cool! Q: I’ve always wanted to challenge myself with band music, and I’m excited to show it this time! I learned guitar for the first time, but everyone practiced hard, so I hope you all listen and support us! --- Were there parts where the members participated or gave their opinions during the album production process? Sonu: During the recording of the title track, I directed to emphasize the mood of the song. Eric: We discussed a lot about the costumes. I particularly participated in the choreography production for track 5, 'AURA'. Kevin: The new album's name is 'a;effect', which is a combination of the verb 'affect' and the noun 'effect'. We expressed our desire to spread waves far and wide through our music and have a good influence on fans and listeners. Also, I named the English title of track 4 'Constellation', as stars gather to create constellations that fill the night sky, which I thought would fit the atmosphere and lyrics of the song. --- I think there are many concepts we haven’t shown yet, but are there any genres or concepts you want to challenge? Jacob: I’m glad I was able to challenge two concepts I wanted to try through the new album! I’ve always wanted to challenge band and hip-hop, and I’m glad I could show it this time. Younghoon: I want to try any genre that everyone likes. Sonu: I want to show a more intense appearance than the concepts we’ve shown so far, so I want to challenge a killer concept. --- After the release of the new album, we will also hold a world tour. Please convey the highlights and enthusiasm to the many fans waiting for THE BOYZ's new tour. Hyunjae: I’m very happy thinking about meeting THE B far away after a long time, and I think it will be fun! Juyoung: Since the last tour, we have more songs with a new atmosphere. Please look forward to THE BOYZ's music and performances, which have become even more diverse. Q: We plan to show many new appearances, so I think THE B will be happy too! --- Do you have any goals or achievements you want to accomplish in this activity? Kevin: Like the album name, I would be happy if our efforts could have a little influence on many people. We included everything from strength to refreshment, so I hope it reaches everyone’s hearts! New: Rather than numerical achievements and goals, I hope more THE B will like and enjoy it. Eric: Rather than achievements or goals I want to accomplish, I hope THE B feels happy and fun when they see our performance or listen to our songs.
