On the 27th (local time), the U.S. Billboard headquarters released the "Billboard K-POP Artist 100" to commemorate the launch of "Billboard Korea" in May and the inaugural issue in June. "Billboard K-POP Artist 100" is a list released for the first time this year in cooperation between the U.S. Billboard headquarters and "Billboard Korea". Billboard will select and announce 100 K-POP artists who have been active on Billboard's main charts with "Billboard Korea" every year. The ranking of the 100 artists was calculated by combining the results of the main album chart "Billboard 200", the main single chart "HOT100", and the "Box Score Top Tour Chart" from January 7th to December 30th last year. Starting with BTS (Bulletproof Boy Scouts) Jungkook, who won first place, a total of 16 groups were selected for the "Billboard K-POP Artist 100". Among the artists selected this time were BTS, Stray Kids, FIFTY FIFTY, NewJeans, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, SEVENTEEN, ATEEZ, ENHYPEN, TWICE, BLACKPINK, LE SSERAFIM, aespa, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, (G)I-DLE, and ITZY. In the middle of the introduction and selection reasons for the 100 artists, Jungkook, who won first place, was intensively featured. Billboard reported, "Jungkook has earned the title of BTS's 'Golden Star'." Jungkook's debut solo single "Seven (feat. Latto)" not only won first place on the Billboard "HOT100", but also kept the top spot for 7 weeks on the "Billboard Global 200" and won first place in the "Global Song of the Summer", and was also selected as the "Top Global K-POP" at the "Billboard Music Awards". In addition, Jungkook's solo song "Standing Next to You" ranked on the Billboard "HOT100" for 16 consecutive weeks, marking the longest period of charting among his solo songs. Last month, Billboard announced the official launch of "Billboard Korea" in Korea, starting with the issuance of the June inaugural issue "Billboard K Vol.1". Prior to the issuance of the inaugural issue, "Billboard Korea" will embark on a large-scale launch promotion, starting with the opening of the official website and digital platform in April and May. The "Billboard Korea" launch event in May is expected to be attended by major executives, including Mike Van, a representative of the U.S. Billboard headquarters, as well as major entertainment industry figures, in addition to the artists selected for the "Billboard K-POP Artist 100".
