BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is opening the curtain on her first solo full album with the new song “CLICK.” Jisoo released the pre-release single “CLICK” from her first full album through various music streaming sites at 1 p.m. on the 4th. “CLICK” is a song in which a dance-pop rhythm based on restrained synth sounds and elastic bass is harmonized. It expresses a subtle tension and a sophisticated atmosphere, and with the intuitive word “click,” it conveys the instinctive charm of two people who are naturally drawn to each other even while knowing they should not be attracted to one another. Jisoo brings her powerful and alluring mid-range vocals to the front, completing a sensational atmosphere that seems indifferent. Within a minimal composition that makes use of empty space, rather than strongly pushing out emotions, she expresses them calmly, emphasizing the texture of the voice itself and its sense of rhythm. Jisoo’s unique elegant and calm image also harmonizes with the light pop sound, further enhancing the song’s appeal. The music video for “CLICK,” released together with the audio, was directed by Korean-American director Joseph Kahn, a Grammy Award winner who has collaborated with many pop stars such as Taylor Swift, Eminem, and Lady Gaga. Starting with “CLICK,” Jisoo plans to sequentially pre-release singles containing different moods and colors, and complete the full album. Through the process of presenting diverse music rather than remaining within one genre or image, she is expected to expand her own unique musical territory.
