JYP recently revealed its legal measures regarding the protection of artists' rights through its official website and the official accounts of its artists. The company explained, 'We are constantly monitoring various illegal activities against our artists and are advancing strict legal actions.' They continued, 'We are collecting malicious content that spreads in major online communities, SNS, KakaoTalk open chats, Telegram, etc., in real-time using information provided by fans, our own monitoring, and a specialized monitoring system for malicious content. We are continuing strong legal measures such as criminal complaints and civil claims against the creation and dissemination of such content without any agreement or leniency.' They also mentioned cases that have already resulted in guilty verdicts. JYP explained, 'We have filed complaints and accusations against individuals who created, posted, or disseminated malicious content against our artists through community platforms, messenger services, SNS, or our ethical management reporting system.' They added, 'Those involved are under investigation by law enforcement, and some cases are still ongoing. Some have already been convicted of violations of the Information and Communications Network Act and the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, receiving fines. Additionally, there have been cases where orders to complete sexual violence treatment programs or employment restrictions related to children and youth agencies were imposed.' They clarified that they are also pursuing legal actions against malicious content posted on overseas online platforms and against individuals residing abroad, stating, 'We are thoroughly tracking the identities of malicious content posters through evidence investigation commissions via the courts and requests for evidence disclosure to overseas courts.' Furthermore, they emphasized, 'For identified individuals, we are pursuing liability for damages both domestically and internationally,' and 'Using overseas platforms as a means of evasion or justifying illegal acts under the guise of freedom of expression is not legally acceptable.' JYP stated, 'We are also responding strictly to stalking behaviors that threaten the safety and invade the privacy of our artists,' and 'The court has already recognized provisional measures to prohibit the perpetrator from approaching, and through complaints and accusations, strict investigations are being conducted into additional criminal suspicions that arose during the stalking process. We are also advancing civil claims for damages against the perpetrators, and for those residing abroad, we are actively utilizing local court evidence disclosure systems to pursue legal actions such as claims for damages.' Notably, JYP includes artists such as Park Jin-young (J.Y. Park), 2PM's Jun. K, Wooyoung, Nickhun, DAY6, TWICE, Stray Kids, ITZY, Xdinary Heroes, NMIXX, KickFlip, NiziU, and NEXZ.
