YOUNITE's Unho was victimized by being forcibly kissed by a female fan at an overseas event. YOUNITE recently participated in the '18th Korean Culture Day' event held in São Paulo, Brazil. Footage from that day spread mainly on social media. In the video, as the members passed through the fans, a female fan reached out to Unho and attempted to kiss him. Surprised, Unho avoided her, and the woman was stopped by staff. Net users pointed out, 'This is clearly sexual harassment,' and criticized, 'This woman is not a fan of YOUNITE. This is a crime.' As discussions expanded, the organizing committee of the event commented, 'We express deep regret regarding the sexual harassment incident where a fan attempted to forcibly kiss an artist. We reiterate that any sexual harassment is unacceptable.' YOUNITE's agency, BRAND NEW MUSIC, called for maintaining a safe distance for the safety of both artists and fans, stating, 'An incident occurred that threatened the safety of the artist due to excessive proximity from some fans.' Unho reassured fans through a communication platform, saying, 'I was surprised, but I avoided it with amazing reflexes. I'm okay.' YOUNITE will hold fan meetings in three cities in Japan in August!
