Hoshi of SEVENTEEN, receiving enthusiastic support from fans, has safely completed basic military training. Today (29th), through SEVENTEEN's fan communication platform "Weverse," he wrote, "Unity! Private Kwon Seungyeon (Hoshi's real name). Hello, CARATs (SEVENTEEN's official fandom name). I have safely finished training." This is his first official greeting to fans since enlisting. He revealed, "I missed you all so much at the training center, and I received great strength from the letters sent by CARATs. Many letters began with the words, 'I don't know if this letter will reach you or if you can read it...' but every single feeling in those words reached me, and I felt the sincerity, warmth, and kindness, which truly moved me every time I read them." He continued, "Thanks to that, I was able to give my all until the end of training. Even when I go to my assigned unit, I will work harder thinking of CARATs. Thank you," adding a salute emoji. In the released photos, he is seen in military uniform, showcasing a more robust appearance. Hoshi entered the training center on September 16. Having successfully completed basic military training, he will continue active service in the army at his assigned unit. Before enlisting this year, he expanded his musical spectrum with the special unit BSS (Seungkwan, DK, Hoshi) releasing their 2nd single "TELEPARTY," Hoshi & Woozi's 1st single "BEAM," and SEVENTEEN's 5th full album "HAPPY BURSTDAY." In July and August, Hoshi & Woozi held 11 fan concerts across five cities in South Korea and abroad, attracting over 100,000 attendees. On the day of enlistment, he also shared happy news with fans, showing his thoughtfulness. He released a new song "TAKE A SHOT" and donated 100 million won (about 1 million USD) to the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Joint Fundraising Association for the construction and remodeling of classrooms at the Undra Mansansa Public School in Zambia. Since debuting in 2015, Hoshi has consistently practiced sharing and spreading positive influence. In 2021, he donated 100 million won and joined the Honor Society, a club for high-value donors of the Love Foundation, actively participating in recovery from various disasters and supporting marginalized communities, children, and youth. SEVENTEEN, to which he belongs, was also appointed as UNESCO Youth Goodwill Ambassadors, leading social contribution activities by creating a fund of 1 million dollars (about 160 million yen) for youth worldwide.
