Lisa revealed that she had hidden the fact that she was dating in order to protect BLACKPINK’s popularity. Lisa’s new documentary, “Always Lalisa,” will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 11. In the documentary, she confessed that during BLACKPINK’s activities, she was concerned that the group’s position would be shaken, and so she had hidden the fact that she was dating. She said, “In K-pop culture, you can’t date,” and added, “If you are dating someone and are photographed by paparazzi, your popularity drops. I had romance several times when I was young, but when dating, I had to hide it. I did not want my own romance to become the cause of BLACKPINK’s popularity declining.” In the documentary, Lisa also revealed that the track “Dream” from her 2025 album “Alter Ego” was a song written about the person she was dating. Lisa said that before releasing the song, she asked the person she was dating again for permission to release the song, and revealed that the other person had set the condition that she should make sure fans would not realize who he was. Lisa said in the documentary, “The other person thought they would not be recognized as me, but I do not think so.” This film, directed by Sue Kim and co-produced by Sony Music Vision with RCA Records and Tremolo Productions, will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11 and will be released in theaters worldwide from October 12. Lisa had been caught being seen dating Frédéric Arnault, the son of the chairman of LVMH, since 2023, but breakup rumors have recently been reported.
