HYBE has officially commented on the claims made by ADOR's representative, Min Hee-jin, through a press release today (26th), stating that they will accurately convey the facts for the value of shareholders and IP protection in response to the statements made during the press conference held by ADOR's representative on the 25th. A lengthy official comment was released. This statement includes 12 rebuttals, ranging from claims such as "the takeover of management rights was a joke, a private conversation" to "claims of lack of financial compensation," "no response to internal whistleblowing emails and immediate audit," "lack of guidance on the return of information assets," "promise to debut as the first girl group," "being told not to promote NewJeans at debut," "claims of neglecting NewJeans' promotion," "claims of a slave contract," "claims to prioritize ESG management," "claims of no attempt at dialogue," "claims that the shaman is just a friend," and "claims of why HYBE does not value NewJeans at comeback time." Min Hee-jin, the representative, claimed during a press conference the day before that HYBE had neglected the promotion of NewJeans. In response, HYBE made it clear that their communication organization has been fully dedicated to promoting NewJeans. They have created and distributed 273 press releases for NewJeans alone in the past year, compared to 659 for 8 groups including BTS and 365 for 4 groups including SEVENTEEN under BIGHIT MUSIC and Pledis Entertainment, respectively. They emphasized that they have not neglected NewJeans' promotion. They also addressed Min Hee-jin's claim that the non-compete clause in the shareholder agreement with HYBE is essentially a slave contract, explaining that the non-compete clause is a common provision to prevent unfair competition after a shareholder sells their shares and starts a similar business in the same industry. They clarified that Min Hee-jin will be free from the non-compete clause once he sells his shares in November this year. They also mentioned a conversation with Min Hee-jin's close associate about exercising a put option in January 2025 to exit. The company has already sent a response regarding the interpretation of conflicting clauses in the contract related to the sale. They pointed out that the main point of contention was the scale of compensation. ADOR's Min Hee-jin denied reports that BTS is also my copy and raised issues with ILLIT again.
