Actor Han Suk-kyu returned to MBC after 30 years, and the drama 'Such a Close Betrayer' that gathered attention won the Grand Prize. On the afternoon of the 3rd, at SBS Prism Tower in Sangam, Mapo District, Seoul, the '52nd Korean Broadcasting Awards' was held with MCs Lee Jae-sung, Kim Ga-hyun, and announcer Jeong Yong-han. On this day, the Grand Prize was awarded to MBC's drama 'Such a Close Betrayer.' The work is a thriller drama that follows the truth in the abyss as the best profiler in Korea becomes involved in a murder case related to his daughter's secret, featuring performances by Han Suk-kyu, Choi Won-bin, Han Ye-ri, Noh Je-won, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Oh Yeon-seo. Namgoong Seong-woo, the EP, first expressed gratitude to the viewers, saying, 'I thought this work depicted the distrust and trust between father and daughter. I believed in the potential of this drama since I read the script by writer Han Ah-yong three years ago. Producer Song Yong-hwa also believed in it. I take pride in being the best producer at MBC.' He continued, 'As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child, our work was able to bloom amidst the trust of many. Especially, I was truly happy and honored that senior Han Suk-kyu read this script and believed in us. It was also a monumental event that he returned to MBC, like a hometown, after 30 years.' The Best Acting Award was won by Lee Jun-kyuk. He humorously remarked, 'I think it's really difficult to take on a new role. I received an unexpected offer for a romance drama while playing a criminal role before, and I am grateful that it turned into a wonderful work.' He added, 'I have done my best in my own way, but sometimes I couldn't believe in myself. At those times, everyone on the team called me by my character name 'Yu Uno,' supporting me to believe in myself and feel love for the work. I strongly realized again that drama production is a team effort. I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity to be able to do this with such a proud drama team and to have this chance to boast about it.' Park Bo-gum, who hosted KBS 2TV's 'THE SEASONS - Park Bo-gum's Cantabile,' won the Best Talent Award. He expressed, 'I sincerely thank you for receiving the Best Talent Award, which I can only receive once in a lifetime. This award is thanks to the viewers who loved 'THE SEASONS - Park Bo-gum's Cantabile,' the audience who has watched the program for a long time, and the production team who responsibly created the night music program until the end.' He further stated, 'It was my first time hosting, and I learned and was surprised by many things. The system of recording once a week and airing that week was very fresh and amazing for me. I feel truly honored and happy. I hope that such wonderful programs continue and are remembered as broadcasts that bring a little healing and joy to many people's lives.' The Best Host and Narration Awards were won by Choi Beom-ram and Yang Hee-un, respectively. Choi Beom-ram, who appeared via video, said, 'Throughout my broadcasting life, I have worked under the belief that 'a good country starts with good broadcasting.' I take this award as a heavy wish to create more honest and warm broadcasts. I thank everyone again and promise to be a broadcaster who dreams of a better world.' Yang Hee-un, who has been active as a narrator for SBS's 'Master of Life' for ten years, reflected on the first day he recorded, saying, 'I learned a lot and was moved by the sharp eyes and principles of the masters, and their strictness towards themselves.' The Best Singer Award went to BTS's J-HOPE, and the Drama Work Award was won by SBS's 'Buried Heart.'
