NCT 127 marked its 10th anniversary with the release of its 7th full album, sharing thoughts on the comeback, member changes, and renewed determination.

NCT 127 revealed their feelings about returning with their 7th full album for the first time in about two years as they marked their 10th debut anniversary. This morning (the 24th), a press roundtable for the release of NCT 127’s 7th full album, “BLINGY,” was held at SKY31 in Lotte World Tower in Songpa District, Seoul. “BLINGY” is an album that, while looking back on the journey they have shared as they reach their 10th debut anniversary, also shows a firm determination to continue carving out their own path based on pride in the group and their unity. It consists of nine songs filled with NCT 127’s own musical world, and through the main slogan “CALL 127,” it more clearly expresses the message that the members and fans will gather again as one “One Team.” NCT 127, which debuted on July 7, 2016, is celebrating its 10th debut anniversary this year. When asked how they felt about making a comeback on their 10th anniversary, Taeyong revealed, “The combination of the Seoul map and Neo colors on the album cover contains the meaning of regaining our初心, our original mindset.” In particular, this album is drawing a great deal of attention because it is their first comeback since Mark’s departure and after Doyoung and Jungwoo enlisted. Taeyong said, “Because it is our 10th anniversary and because two members are not here now, I think we prepared even harder in order to show ourselves without any shortcomings. There may still be some lacking points, but we worked hard so that many fans and people who listen to our songs would not feel that anything is missing, so I would be happy if you look forward to it.” He also mentioned the departed Mark, saying, “Mark is a member who walked this path with us for 10 years. Personally, I truly respect him. He had a really hard time going back and forth between two teams all this time. I wanted to support him from the bottom of my heart. Now we have gone our separate ways, but I want to say that I respect that choice and support him sincerely.” Jaehyun then said about the album, “It is our seventh album released on our 10th anniversary. We keep setting out in search of something ‘BLINGY,’ but in the end, this album means that all of those things are within us. Of course, there are songs that two members (Doyoung and Jungwoo) participated in, but it is a good album filled solidly by five members, so I would like to ask for a lot of interest.” When asked about the keyword for this album, Johnny also answered, “初心,” meaning original mindset. He continued, “The reason is that while preparing the song ‘BLINGY,’ I think we prepared even harder than for the performances we have done so far, and it was really difficult.
