Tail, who left NCT, has left SM Entertainment while being investigated by the police for the suspicion of special quasi-rape. SM Entertainment announced today (16th) through an official press release that "we inform you that the exclusive contract with Tail has been terminated as of October 15, 2024." They continued, "Tail is currently under investigation by the prosecution for a criminal complaint, which is of course a reason for termination of the exclusive contract, and because we can no longer maintain trust in him as an artist, we decided to terminate the exclusive contract with his agreement." They added, "We sincerely apologize for the concern caused by Tail, who was our artist." Tail left NCT on August 28. After being investigated for special quasi-rape, he was indicted on the 12th of last month.
