On September 28, 'IDOL RADIO LIVE IN TOKYO ~Shining Moments~' was held at Tokyo Garden Theater, featuring performances by SUPER JUNIOR's Yesung, SHINee's Onew, OCTPATH, BALLISTIK BOYZ from EXILE TRIBE, Fukamoto Taihare, MAMAMOO's Moonbyul, and MAVE:. KARA's Jiyoung served as the MC, and DreamNote appeared as the opening act. From Korea, the legendary groups SUPER JUNIOR, SHINee, and MAMAMOO were represented by solo artists Yesung, Onew, and Moonbyul. The afternoon show included a performance by the trending virtual girl group MAVE: via video. From Japan, OCTPATH and BALLISTIK BOYZ from EXILE TRIBE, who are expanding their activities in Korea and Asia, performed. As a special stage, OCTPATH covered K-POP songs, and BALLISTIK BOYZ collaborated with Moonbyul, exciting the audience. Fukamoto Taihare, who has just begun his solo career, enjoyed his first joint event, attempting the 'Dollra 4 Cut' (taking four photos while posing) popular on 'IDOL RADIO'. The event captivated the audience with a diverse lineup characteristic of 'IDOL RADIO', supported by K-POP fans. Yesung, who performed various ballads suitable for autumn, closed the afternoon show and opened the night show. He greeted the audience with, 'How are you? I'm Yesung from SUPER JUNIOR,' and mentioned, 'I changed my songs and outfits for day and night. I cut my hair after being told, 'We can't see your face.' He expressed his excitement, stating, 'I haven't had many opportunities to meet Japanese fans recently, so I'm happy to see you. SUPER JUNIOR has just finished 'SUPER SHOW SPIN-OFF: Halftime.' When asked if they would perform in Japan, he asked fans to wait a little longer as he prepares. However, he mentioned he would release an album within a month, so fans should be able to see him again soon. He performed Japanese songs 'Ima Ai ni Yukimasu ~If You~' (afternoon show) and 'Because I Love You ~Important Bond~' (night show), along with gentle ballads like 'A Letter in The Wind' (afternoon show), slow ballads like 'Scented Things' (night show), pop ballads like 'Like Us', and mid-tempo rock ballads like 'Slide Away', stating he chose songs that evoke the feeling of autumn. Onew was welcomed with cheers of 'Welcome back!' and opened the afternoon show and closed the night show with his new song debut, expressing, 'I'm happy!' After a break, Onew energetically greeted the audience with 'I'm back!' and received a loud 'Welcome back!' in response. He performed the title track 'Charm (beat drum)' from his mini-album 'FLOW', released in Korea on September 3, leaving a fresh impression with his rap. He practiced the part of the song where fans sing along during 'All day' from the same album, and when he pointed the microphone at the audience, they sang along in a big chorus, showing a satisfied smile, saying, 'Fun! The best! It's the best feeling in the world to meet you all and sing together!' He also sang the ballad 'Your Scent', followed by the pop tune 'DICE' in the afternoon and the grand 'O (Circle)' at night, showcasing a wide range of music with different colors. Moonbyul expressed her dream of standing on stage with seniors she idolized, having served as a radio DJ for a month on 'IDOL RADIO' under the nickname 'Hamster DJ (Hamdi)'. She entertained fans with a glamorous performance accompanied by dancers. Starting the live with her latest song 'Is This Love?', she varied her set with 'Memories' (afternoon show) and 'ddu ddu ddu' (night show), finishing with cute and pop songs 'TOUCHIN & MOVIN' and 'C.I.T.T (Cheese in the Trap)'. Moonbyul, a third-generation K-POP artist, remarked, 'When I appear on music shows, there are only juniors, but today there are many seniors, which is different. I have listened to many songs from my seniors SUPER JUNIOR and SHINee, and I sang KARA's songs during my trainee days. Standing on stage with seniors who were my idols feels like a dream. Please make your dreams come true too.' The trending virtual girl group MAVE: made an appearance, as virtual idols have become a new keyword in the fifth generation K-POP scene, attracting attention. Recently, the virtual boys' group PLAVE made headlines by performing their first offline live at the 'IDOL RADIO' Seoul concert, and this time, the virtual girl group MAVE: appeared. They performed 'WONDERLAND (IDYPIA)' and 'What's My Name' with realistic visuals, as if performing right in front of the audience, and even engaged in talk segments. Fukamoto Taihare participated in the joint event for the first time, showcasing an idol-like sparkling stage. Having launched his official fan club on June 22, he introduced himself after singing 'I wanna meet U', saying, 'I'm an idol! I'm Fukamoto Taihare!' Seeing the audience filled with orange light sticks, his image color, he expressed, 'I was moved. Thank you for coming to support me!' Fukamoto, who loves Korean culture and is self-studying Korean, showcased the hip dance from KARA's 'Mister' during a talk with Jiyoung, exciting the audience. He also attempted the 'Dollra 4 Cut' popular on 'IDOL RADIO', gathering cheers from fans with cute poses. During 'EveryBirthday', he engaged the audience with questions like 'Do you love me?' and 'Who do you all love?', enjoying call-and-response with fans, and showcased his sexy charm during 'SUPER LADY FIRST' (afternoon show) and 'Egoistic Halloween' (night show), fully displaying his idol-like brilliance. BALLISTIK BOYZ from EXILE TRIBE collaborated with MAMAMOO's Moonbyul, performing their own songs and collaborating on MAMAMOO's 'Sleep Talk'. Moonbyul remarked that it was their first meeting, saying, 'The charisma is amazing!' Matsui explained that the reason for choosing MAMAMOO's 'Sleep Talk' was simply because he liked it, as it is a Japanese song he wanted to collaborate on. Matsui, who practiced singing a song in a female key in the bath, noted that as the first EXILE TRIBE group where all members hold microphones, they transitioned vocals one by one, with Moonbyul joining in on the rap part. OCTPATH's Nishijima, who had previously performed in Korea before joining OCTPATH, expressed, 'I have appeared on 'IDOL RADIO' before. I'm honored to perform at an event in Japan. This time, I want to try the 'Saranghae Game' that is often done on 'IDOL RADIO'!' The members excitedly donned cute headbands and took turns giving back hugs in order, with the mission succeeding when they all shouted 'Saranghae (I love you)'. The audience went wild as Kurita kissed Kaifu's cheek and Kaifu princess-carried Takahashi. They performed a cover stage of SuperM's 'Jopping', overwhelming the audience with their skills. Special talks featuring veteran idols from the second and third generations were also held! Not only performances but also special talks by Jiyoung, Yesung, Onew, and Moonbyul were arranged, fitting for the radio program 'IDOL RADIO'. During the afternoon show, rare past footage from MBC's music program was shown, with Yesung humorously recalling, 'When SUPER JUNIOR sang 'U', we spent more time on our hair than makeup. The height of our hair was a point of pride.' They reminisced, and Jiyoung suggested, 'I want to appear as a project group on MBC's year-end music program with this member. Adding up our careers, it totals 64 years!' Yesung suggested, 'Since there are two men and two women, how about the group name 'TooToo'?' creating a lively atmosphere. In the night show, they challenged the essential dance challenge for fifth-generation idols. A rare scene was seen where Yesung and Onew danced together to K-POP classics SUPER JUNIOR's 'Sorry, Sorry' and SHINee's 'Ring Ding Dong'. Yesung expressed, 'Watching old footage reminded me of my idol self. I've done various activities as an artist and actor, but looking back, being an idol was the best. Please support me so I can remain an idol for life!' Finally, they wrapped up the segment with a commemorative photo session of the 'Dollra 4 Cut', closing the corner. The event 'IDOL RADIO LIVE IN TOKYO ~Shining Moments~', featuring beloved K-POP second and third-generation idols both as groups and solo artists, provided a chemistry with Japanese idol groups. Amidst many joint events featuring fifth-generation idol groups, this event offered a unique lineup characteristic of the long-standing K-POP program, providing fans with emotion and nostalgia. The charm of artists loved across generations was fully showcased, making this event a rare opportunity to experience the weight and evolution of K-POP history.
