The Korean microbeome skincare brand "UIQ" has concluded its fourth brand-exclusive model contract with RIIZE, the global boy group affiliated with SM Entertainment. The path the two have walked together, which began when RIIZE debuted in 2023, has reached the milestone of its fourth year through annual contract renewals. In the beauty and entertainment industries, where trends change rapidly, it is unusual for a partnership to continue for a long period of time, and beyond the framework of a mere advertising model, they will continue to create further synergy in markets around the world, including Japan and Korea, as a "true global partnership" that has jointly driven the birth and growth of the brand. Over the past three years, UIQ and RIIZE have established a unique brand identity by fusing the brand philosophy of "healthy skin through the microbiome" with RIIZE's distinctive fresh and positive energy. In particular, in the major beauty markets of Japan and Korea, they have steadily expanded brand experiences for fans and consumers by carrying out a variety of activities such as new product launch campaigns, offline pop-ups, and fan signing events. Taking this fourth renewal as an opportunity, UIQ will fully launch a large-scale project for the 26FW season, when dryness becomes serious: the "Barrier Campaign." In addition to the "Barrier Duo" of the flagship products, the highly moisturizing and skin barrier-care "Biome Barrier Cream Mist" and "Biome Barrier Pantensive Cream," this fall the long-awaited new product "Biome Barrier Pantensive Lotion (180 ml)" has joined the lineup. This product is a high-moisture, low-irritation "soft-skin introductory lotion" that contains the company's proprietary patented ingredient "CutiBiome(TM)" at a high concentration (40% * ingredient blending amount), combined with panthenol and the liposomized attention ingredient "Secolji." With its fresh and light texture, it quickly delivers moisture deep into the stratum corneum and is ideal for hydration before makeup and for skin texture care. It proposes a three-step "barrier care routine" (using the line together) that continues from mist to lotion to cream, and through promotions in both Japan and Korea, it will establish overwhelming competitiveness in the autumn and winter skin barrier care category. It also announced that it is preparing to release a "special collaboration product" that uses the "RIIZE official character IP," which also drew enthusiastic support in the previous collaboration, toward the end of the year. Along with the sequential release of new campaign visuals capturing the members' diverse charms, special measures are planned to further heighten fans' anticipation (details to be announced soon). ◆ Comment from Seo Jinkyung, Managing Director of the Consumer Group at GENOME & COMPANY The moment of their debut to the present, RIIZE and UIQ have been the best partners, watching over and supporting each other's growth. Driven by the strong relationship of trust built over more than three years and the artists' sincere attachment to the brand, we will continue to create even stronger synergy in the future. ■ Related link Qoo10 UIQ official page
SM Entertainment posted weaker Q3 results, with sales and operating profit down year on year and net income turning to a loss. It said reduced domestic comeback schedules hurt direct music and concert revenue, while IP-based businesses grew. The company plans major comebacks and global tours from Q4 through next Q1.
