THE BOYZ, who demanded the termination of their exclusive contract with One Hundred due to unpaid settlement fees, has filed a lawsuit against representative Cha Ga-won on suspicion of embezzlement. According to THE BOYZ today (21st), they recently filed a lawsuit through their legal representative against the representative of One Hundred for violations of laws related to aggravated punishment for specific economic crimes (embezzlement). Prior to this, last month, the legal representatives of THE BOYZ members excluding New—Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sonu, and Eric—issued an official statement saying, "We have notified the termination of the exclusive contract on February 10, 2026, due to serious violations of the exclusive contract by One Hundred label and the irreparable damage to the trust relationship caused by it. Accordingly, we inform you that the exclusive contract has been legally terminated and its effect has ended." THE BOYZ claimed, "The agency has not paid the artists normal settlement fees for all activities after July 2025, following the payment of settlement fees in the second quarter of 2025. Despite several requests to view basic materials such as contracts to confirm the transparency of the settlement, they have refused this without justifiable reasons, abandoning the fundamental and essential obligations of the management company under the exclusive contract." Furthermore, they stated, "Recent reports have revealed that the agency received advance payments amounting to hundreds of billions of won based on the artists' entertainment activities," and conveyed the reasons for the contract termination notice, saying, "Despite this, the agency has not provided any responsible explanation or satisfactory clarification regarding the current situation of unpaid settlement fees to the artists." In particular, in addition to THE BOYZ, Lee Mujin, BE'O, VIVIZ, and Lee Seung-gi have also demanded contract terminations from One Hundred's subsidiary label Big Planet Made Entertainment. VIVIZ and Lee Seung-gi have had their contracts terminated. Additionally, there are suspicions that representative Cha Ga-won received advance payments after proposing collaboration based on the intellectual property rights of the affiliated artists but did not develop the business. However, One Hundred stated, "We signed contracts with each member based on the premise that all 11 members of THE BOYZ would act as one team and comply with the contract period, providing them with huge exclusive contract fees. However, due to various discussions among the members last year, this premise collapsed, leading to the situation where one member withdrew, making normal group activities difficult." They continued, "Nevertheless, we have made efforts to maintain group activities, even accepting significant losses to persuade the affected parties. The demands for termination of the exclusive contracts raised by the members, ignoring such circumstances, cannot be accepted." THE BOYZ has submitted a complaint to the Seoul Central District Court, and on the 20th, the first hearing for the "temporary injunction to suspend the effect of the exclusive contract" lawsuit between THE BOYZ and One Hundred was held. Additionally, with THE BOYZ criminally accusing representative Cha Ga-won of embezzlement, legal disputes are expected to continue. Meanwhile, THE BOYZ member New has clarified his position to maintain his exclusive contract with One Hundred after discussions with the members. He is currently appearing in the musical "Romeo and Juliet."
