SHINee's Onew showcased his sensuous musical colors. Today (9th) at 6 PM, he released his 5th mini album 'TOUGH LOVE' through various music distribution sites. The title track 'TOUGH LOVE' is a song in which Onew participated in both lyrics and composition for the first time since his debut. Completed through close collaboration with famous overseas producers, it became a track that expands his musical colors. The beginning of the song enhances immersion with Onew's unique lyrical vocals, while the latter part features a powerful drop that doubles the addictive quality. It conveys a proactive message of 'awakening potential while enduring all pain to love,' providing courage and comfort to listeners. The music video released alongside the audio depicts Onew enduring the weight of the fate placed upon him. He repeatedly falls prey to constant pain but rises again to move forward at every moment. Additionally, 'TOUGH LOVE' includes five songs: 'Dot dot dot (...)' which blends subtle tension with a catchy melody, 'Flex on me' which replaces the word 'flex' not with material display but with devotion to love, 'Lie' which depicts the exhaustion of a relationship filled with lies with a poignant emotional line, and 'X, Oh Why?' which sublimates the speaker's emotions choosing freedom from the sadness of separation over being buried in it. 'TOUGH LOVE' breaks away from ordinary love stories, weaving together diverse facets of love we face in the world like a novel. As an album announcing the expansion of Onew's unique musical worldview, he proves his abilities as a producer by co-writing all songs and composing 'TOUGH LOVE' and 'Lie.' He plans to continue various promotions following the album release, maintaining the excitement of his comeback.
