JAKOPS (SIMON), the producer of XG, published an apology regarding his misconduct and announced his resignation as a producer. He was released on bail on the 25th and left a police station in Tokyo wearing black-rimmed glasses, blonde hair, and a black suit. In front of the cameras, he bowed his head for about 13 seconds and said, 'I’m sorry.' He then left the scene with related parties. On the same day, he apologized through a written post on Instagram, stating, 'I caused great inconvenience and concern due to my selfish actions.' He expressed that he takes this incident seriously and feels deeply that his actions lacked social responsibility and trampled on the feelings of fans. He acknowledged that there is no room for explanation. He also made it clear that he decided to resign as the representative of the company. Regarding the impact on the group, he stated, 'This incident is entirely my personal responsibility, and the members of XG bear no fault.' He mentioned that the members are sincerely dedicated to their music activities every day and requested continued support for them. According to Avex, they have already terminated their contract with SIMON after the incident was discovered, and the two other employees arrested with him have also been dismissed. Previously, on February 23, SIMON was arrested on the spot for possession of cocaine and dried marijuana at a hotel in Aichi Prefecture. According to investigative sources, at that time, investigators searched the hotel where four people were staying, and cocaine was found on the desk in the room, with a total of four bags and one bag of marijuana seized. Subsequently, on March 13, reports indicated that the four were re-arrested on suspicion of cocaine use. It was revealed that a urine test showed a positive reaction. The four are believed to have been habitually using illegal drugs for at least a year, and the police are currently investigating the procurement routes of the cocaine.
