YG ENTERTAINMENT (hereinafter, YG) chief producer Yang Hyun-suk suddenly unveiled the comeback plans of the artists under the company and the debut plans for the next generation of rookies. On the 14th, YG posted “FROM YG” through its official blog, containing a handwritten and official message from chief producer Yang Hyun-suk. It has been about five months since April of this year that Yang Hyun-suk directly announced the activity roadmap of the artists under the company, drawing intense interest from global fans. Leading the charge is BABYMONSTER. They will release the digital single “DESERVE” on October 23. Yang Hyun-suk said about this new song, “It is a slow song, but it is a song with stronger energy than any song we have released so far,” and expressed confidence, saying, “BABYMONSTER’s delicate vocals and explosive singing ability are harmonized to express peak emotion.” BABYMONSTER, which is currently carrying out the world tour “CHOOM” across 18 cities on five continents, has also confirmed a new album for early next year following this digital single, signaling overwhelming global momentum. News of TREASURE’s new release was also unveiled. TREASURE, which achieved a career high with the mini album “NEW WAV” in June this year, will continue that momentum with the new song “SHOCK” on November 2. Yang Hyun-suk said, “TREASURE is bringing the biggest change to the direction of the music,” and announced that this new song will also center on a powerful hip-hop sound. He then called for much anticipation and support for TREASURE’s full-fledged second chapter of activities leading into 2027. In particular, the part that drew attention in this announcement was the debut plans for two rookie groups, the next-generation lineup of YG. YG is currently concretizing the debut of a five-member boy group and a four-member girl group. Yang Hyun-suk revealed, “Because they are very important artists who will lead YG’s future together with TREASURE and BABYMONSTER, I myself am putting in my best effort.” Both rookie groups are scheduled to finish recording demo songs by the end of the year, and once the title tracks are decided, their specific debut schedules will be finalized. Yang Hyun-suk added, “At the end of this year, I will greet you again with a YG announcement video containing more diverse and happy news,” and expressed gratitude to fans around the world. With the active activities of TREASURE and BABYMONSTER, as well as the visible launch of two next-generation rookie groups targeting 2027, attention is being focused on YG’s expansion and leap in global IP. • G-DRAGON & Yang Hyun-suk, suspicion of copyright law violation ends with no charges • YG suddenly reveals a five-member new boy group debuting in September!
