ILLIT has returned in a more grown-up form. On the afternoon of the 21st, ILLIT held a showcase to commemorate the release of their 2nd mini-album 'I'LL LIKE YOU' at YES24 Live Hall in Gwangjin District, Seoul. After a comeback of about 7 months, ILLIT, through 'I'LL LIKE YOU', depicts a girl who wants to get close to 'you' while being immersed in the moment, struggling with her feelings, but ultimately shows her unwavering feelings for 'you'. On this day, Yuna expressed, 'Since this is our first comeback after debut, I am both nervous and excited. I hope to receive a lot of interest and love for the activities starting today.' Mocha stated, 'We prepared this album with the desire to show ILLIT's unique charm,' and Wonhee mentioned, 'Since this is our first comeback, I am curious about the fans' reactions. I am more nervous and excited than during our debut.' Iroha expressed her excitement about the new songs, saying, 'Each song included in this album has a different atmosphere, so I struggled with how to express each one.' Minju raised expectations, saying, 'I think we can show a different charm from 'Magnetic'.' Regarding 'I'LL LIKE YOU', Minju explained, 'It depicts a story about a relationship with someone you like, expressing my honest feelings about what I was personally curious about while thinking of the fans,' and added, 'I think you can feel a different charm from the 1st mini-album.' The title track 'Cherish (My Love)' is a song that encapsulates ILLIT's straightforward and bold charm, singing, 'I am curious about your feelings, but my feelings for you are more important.' After finishing the stage, Yuna smiled, saying, 'When I first heard the title track, I was a bit nervous because it was a song we had never done before, but the more we practiced with the members, the more I felt it suited us.' Mocha conveyed, 'We prepared for this comeback with the feeling of debuting again. I hope you pay a lot of attention to 'Cherish (My Love)'.' In particular, Yuna mentioned, 'We prepared it with great care, recording it seven times, and it is a song that has helped us grow a level.' The performance of 'Cherish (My Love)' features various heart choreography. Minju said, 'From the beginning to the end, various hearts appear, and I think it will be interesting to see how many hearts we can create.' The members then showcased their point dance, the 'Magnetic Heart' dance. This album also involved the participation of HYBE's Bang Si-hyuk in the production. When asked what kind of advice they received from Chairman Bang Si-hyuk, Wonhee revealed, 'He gave us detailed advice on movements and expressions while dancing, which helped make this song richer and more attractive.' What does this album mean for ILLIT? Minju stated, 'We challenged ourselves to further highlight the straightforward charm we have shown so far and to expand our musical color. We want to show an expanded version of ILLIT.' The brand film expressing ILLIT's identity, released earlier, reinforced the message 'ILLIT walks its own path.' Yuna shared, 'We have been running hard towards the goal of our 2nd mini-album. I wanted to convey my words to the members who worked hard, the people in the agency, the staff, and the fans.' She expressed a commitment to continue walking our own path without wavering, hoping that it resonates well with the listeners. What does 'ILLIT-ness' mean? Wonhee commented, 'I think the charm points are in ILLIT's music. We often decide the themes of our songs based on our thoughts. I believe a lot of what people our age think is incorporated. Music infused with ILLIT's thoughts is what makes us ILLIT,' adding, 'I think you can empathize with our 'ILLIT-ness' through cute lyrics.' Additionally, ILLIT's name was mentioned in the dispute between HYBE and ADOR after their debut, but Yuna stated, 'We prepared hard to show a good image to the fans who support ILLIT no matter the situation.' She continued, 'Also, during the preparation for the album, we celebrated our 1st anniversary. It made me think again about the people who helped us grow as ILLIT and the fans who support us. We focused on showing our unique color,' and added, 'As shown in the brand film, we prepared the 2nd mini-album with the mindset of 'ILLIT walks its own path.' Furthermore, there were discussions about live performances at the time of their debut. Iroha conveyed her determination, saying, 'We listened to many opinions and worked hard to show a better version of ourselves. We will become an ILLIT that continues to grow.' Yuna added, 'While preparing for the 2nd mini-album, we performed on various stages such as overseas concerts and university festivals. Not only did we prepare the stage, but the diverse experiences helped us grow.' Finally, ILLIT revealed their activity goals and desired modifiers. Wonhee expressed, 'Minju unnie became the MC of 'Music Bank'. I would be happy if ILLIT could win 1st place and receive a trophy from Minju unnie.' Yuna shared her wish to become 'a girl group representing the 5th generation.' ILLIT's 2nd mini-album 'I'LL LIKE YOU' includes the title track 'Cherish (My Love)' and a total of five songs: 'I'll Like You', 'IYKYK (If You Know You Know)', 'Pimple', and 'Tick-Tack', released at 6 PM on the 21st.
